Tip of the Week - Make Up Tips for Dark Circles Under the Eyes

If you have dark circles under your eyes, you can use these make up tips to help conceal them.  First use an under eye cream that will keep the skin under your eyes looking smooth (but not shiny). Next, use make up or cover up stick a shade lighter than your all over make up color or your skin tones if you don't use foundation make up.  You can also choose a cover up stick with a peach or pink undertone. The peach/pink colors will lessen the look of blue tones in the dark circles.  If you use an all over foundation color, apply it first before covering your dark circles.

When applying the cover up stick or make up, don't completely cover the entire area under the eye. Cover only the darkened areas, then use your regular color foundation make up to cover the entire area if necessary.  Remember to lightly blend the make up so you are not tugging or pulling the delicate skin under your eyes. Also, don't apply too much of the cover up stick or make up under your eyes as you don't want that area to appear flaky or wrinkled or to stand out. You're goal is to have a blended, natural appearance.

Don't forget to get as much sleep as you can at night, drink plenty of water and protect your skin from the sun as much as possible.  These routines may not get rid of dark circles if you have a hereditary condition or allergies, but they will help your skin stay healthy.
